Audition Requirements

All auditionees will require a singing, acting and dancing audition. While some roles do not require singing and/or dancing, we may ask that you participate in ensemble numbers or sing off stage if cast. Additionally, it may be necessary to double cast, so it is important for us to see what you can bring in each area. But please don’t stress, our primary consideration will be what role you are auditioning for and what is required in that role.  

SINGING: Please prepare 2 minutes OR 32 bars of a song in the style of Beautiful. Consider a pop/jazz/or musical standard that is melodic and shows off your range and dramatic abilities. Please bring a backing track (no vocals) on a device which will be paired with a bluetooth speaker. Acapella auditions will not be considered. You may be asked to do a quick, friendly MD led voice and range check.

ACTING: Prepare a 60-90 second published monologue (dramatic or comedic) that shows your range and suits the project and character you are auditioning for. You may be asked to do a cold read for a specific character. 

DANCING: Your dance audition will take place after your singing and acting audition. Times will be provided when you sign up for your audition.
