20 to 30. Could be male or female cast. Jamie is Powers side kick whether Power wants him or not. ADD Gen Xer. Fast thinker, faster talker, disastrous conclusions. He is charming and endearing in the above ways but a bit of a danger magnet

Anne Scott

20 to 30. Rich powerful, one of the City’s movers and shakers. She is practical and very smart. Think of an intelligent Kardasian. She drives the plot but what isn’t she telling us?

Susan Scott

20 to 30. Rich, powerful, wild child. She is Anne’s younger sister. She is Trouble with a capital T. In fact, she goes looking for it, finds it and wallows in it. Bad news. Not particularly bright, in fact a bit of a giggling bubble head but a dangerous one.

Detective Stackhouse

50 plus. World weary good cop in a bad city. Tough, physical not adverse to slapping a suspect around a bit to get an answer. Carries a sense of world’s weight on his shoulders and has the ulcers to prove it.

Henry “The Pig” Duvall

25+. A very very bad man and he loves it. A rich criminal with his dirty little fingers in everyone’s pie. The patron saint of missing people as he says. He is very physical. He carries himself with an oversized swagger.

SYNPOSIS

Filthy Rich is a fast-paced play written in a dramatic film noir style. Satirizing the self-possessed, tough-guy stereotype of classic detective novels, Walter’s protagonist is Tyrone Power, a washed-up writer turned detective.

SHOW DATES: April 4th – 12th, 2025

All shows at 7:30 p.m. Matiness at 2 p.m.

REHERSALS are every Tuesday, Thursday 7:00pm-10:00pm & Sundays 2:00pm – 5:00pm

Commitment: You must be available for tech runs, dress rehearsal, and all performances.

AUDITION DATES:

Sunday, November 24, 2024 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Monday, November 26, 2024, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

LOCATION: Village Community Centre, 22 Sherwood Rd. West, Ajax.

All cast must be available for these dates. Performances are at the St. Francis Centre, 78 Church St. South, Ajax and Rehearsals are at the Village Community Centre.

Requirements: The audition will consist of cold readings from the script. You may be re-directed.
