Margaret (Margie) (~50) (identifying as female) - a strong, plucky, find a way to get things done woman, who doesn't let life get her down for long.
Dottie (~65) (identifying as female) - Margie's eccentric, slightly odd landlady and friend. She walks to the beat of a different drummer.
Jean (~45/55) (identifying as female) - Margie's friend. Offers advice and support whether wanted or not. A little hard boiled and always has an opinion to share.
Kate (~30’s) (identifying as a Black female) - Mike's wife. She comes from an academic and professional family and is a college professor. She wants to know Mike’s secrets about his life in Southie. She struggles to understand Mike and Margie’s blue-collar background and how to relate to it.
Mike (~50) (identifying as male) - Margie's old beau. He can be callous and smug. Has a big shot attitude, who doesn't want to remember where he comes from. Can sound heartless. He is a doctor.

The Story
It’s been a rough road for Margie, a single mother living in South Boston. Having just been fired from her job at The Dollar Store, Margie scrambles to find a way for her and her daughter to survive. She decides to contact Mike, an old fling from her high school days, who has become a successful doctor, in the hopes that he (or someone he knows) might have a job for her. As they reconnect, secrets and sacrifices are revealed.
