| When his father, Ivan, visits, after a fifteen year estrangement, Joe Todd hires a paid escort to pose as his fiancée so that he won’t appear to be a total social failure. Renee, the escort is a needy single mother with lots of imagination. Joe’s supposedly successful television newsreader sister, Carrie, is facing a growing alcohol problem. And Ivan and his wife have an ulterior motive for arranging the sudden family reunion. The dysfunctional relationships of the family provide hilarious comedy as resentments harboured for years are finally brought to the surface with surprising results. |
