Jenny's House Of Joy a Comedy by Norm Foster Presented by Borelians Community Theatre February 09 - 17, 2024 at Town Hall 1873, Port Perry |
|
Set in 1870s Kansas, this is a period comedy revolving around the women working at the best little brothel in Baxter Springs. When a young woman, running away from a brutal husband, comes looking for a job, Jenny and her girls are amazed by her business savvy and penchant for the oldest profession. Feathers, frills and furbelows, a brawling and bawling all-female cast and hilarious descriptions of stints upstairs with the good ole boys create memorable entertainment as well as empathy for the women who lived by their wits in the Wild West a hundred and fifty years ago. |
